Q.  Are cameras and smart phones allowed on your helicopters?

A.  YES cameras and smart phones are allowed with the exception of the Samsung Note 7 smartphone devices which has been banned by the FAA in 2015

Q.  Is it safe to purchase tickets on your website?

A. Yes We have a valid SSL Certificate and our website is completely secure for all of your purchases

Q. How many people can fly in your helicopters?

A. Our helicopters seat up to 5 and 6 passengers plus one pilot.

Q. What are your hours of operation?

A. Our Downtown Manhattan Heliport at 6 East River Piers, NY NY 10004 is open Mon-Sat from 9:00am - 6:30pm and Closed Sundays. For more Information please call 1-800-542-9933 or 212-967-6464. 

Q. Do I need a reservation?

A. Yes reservations are mandatory for all helicopter flights Please call 1800-542-9933 or 212-967-6464. Our live reservation lines are open 7 days a week from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday - Sunday.  You can also email us with your reservation request at This email address is being protected from spambots. Q. Do you ever have delays or interruptions to your scheduled flights?

A. Delays may occur more often then not during: 1) Our busy season from June thru December.  2) Government air restrictions and high profile government visits to NYC. 3) Inclement weather and the next flyable weather day. 4) Extreme heat, cold or windy days.  5) Holidays

Q. Is there public transportation to Liberty Helicopters?

A. Yes. Please see our Maps page for more details.

Q. Are private chartered flights available?

A. Yes, private chartered flights are available. Please contact our Charter Department at 908-474-9700 and you will be able to design any route you wish. 

Q. How long are your tours?

A. Our Big Apple tour is approximately 15 minutes in length our New York New York tour is approximately 20 minutes in length.

Q. Is parking available at the heliport?

A. The closest parking area to our Downtown Heliport is at South Street Seaport. We are a 5-8 minute walk from there.

Q. Do you have gift certificates available for purchase?

A.  All you have to do is purchase a product from our website and put the name of your recipient as the passenger.  You will then recieve an eticket with their name on it and you can forward to them however you wish.  If you would like to purchase a hard copy gift certificate and have it mailed to you or your recipient please call us at 1-800-542-9933 or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that we can process your order.  Additional shipping fees and a $5.00 gift certificate processing fee will be applied. All gift certificates are subject to a $40.00 per person heliport fee.

Q. What happens if I buy a product and my flight is cancelled due to weather?

A. Liberty Helicopters will do our best to reschedule your tour for another date and time. If we cannot find an agreed upon date and time and you purchased the product through this website or by calling us by phone, we will refund you in full. If you purchased our product through a 3rd party or affiliate you will need to contact them directly to discuss refund options. Gift Certificates are non refundable and non transferable.

Q. What is your cancellation and or refund policy?

A. Liberty Helicopters will not charge you for any date or time changes to an existing prepaid helicopter flight. Any cancellation of outside of 24 hours of your flight departure date is subject to a $40.00 per person cancellation fee, any cancellation within 24 hours of scheduled date will result in full payment taken from your credit card. If passengers do not show up for their flight then the money paid in full is non refundable. Liberty Helicopters, Inc reserves the right to upgrade, alter or terminate any or all of our flights due to security, weather or acts of God or for any other reason we deem necessary. If this happens and a new reservation date cannot be made then you will be refunded for full cost of your tour. Gift certificates are non refundable and non transferable.  Any refund request for non-scheduled tickets purchased from this website are subject to a $40.00 per person cancellation fee. 

Tickets are valid for 1 year from date of purchase unless otherwise stated.  If ticket is not redeemed within 1 year of purchase you may be subject to a price increase

Q. Are there any additional fees?

A. Yes there is a mandatory heliport fee of $40.00 per person which is payable at time of tour purchase.

Q. Should I call to check my reservation status on the day of my flight if the weather looks bad?

A. Yes it is always a good idea to check with us prior to your flight if the weather looks bad.

Q. Must I bring my photo identification with me?

A. Yes all guests are required to bring a valid photo id as follows: US residents must bring valid governement issued photo id.  Non US residents must bring valid government issued passport.
